One year ago (yesterday) our lives were made more full by the arrival of this beautiful baby boy; and he was an instant hit around here. Not really knowing anyone but our neighbors we kept his party a small affair (aka. just the four of us), but I think Oliver was okay with that. There were balloons and pumpkin muffins and cars and trucks, so little else seemed to matter.
Happy 1st Birthday Oliver!

{disclaimer: I’ve been taking pictures each month of Oliver with a little chalk board numbered with his age in months to mark the passage of time for the express purpose of posting the series for his first birthday. It is only fitting that I can’t find them all now. So, these photos are subject to change.}

  1. Love all the pictures what a great way to show how he has grown. And you really managed to get pictures of just him. When there are more than one little ones sometimes solo pictures are impossible to get. Love you all and miss you dearly. Mom

  2. And what a fine young man he is! You can see the curiosity, joy, and vibrant spirit in his face . . . he is well loved! Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you. Maybe we’ll have to have another party over Thanksgiving? (hey, have you ever made the kids muffins in ice cream cones? Heard someone at the market discussing this the other day–for the field hockey team. I thought it was a great idea for grandchildren! Does that give away my stage of life?)

  3. We would love another celebration when you’re here. I think Eleanor would too. She’s been suggesting desserts for my birthday, Tim’s birthday, and her birthday including chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, and key lime pie. Since grandma’s birthday is the closest, I think that deserves a little celebration as well!
    And yes, this boy is curious, vibrant, and joyful. And well loved!
